Lecture of the Japanese ambassador in Bulgaria Takashi Koizumi

On April 12, 2016 was organized a public lecture with the Ambassador of Japan in Bulgaria HE Takashi Koizumi. It was organized by the Student Association for the Study of International Relations (IRRSA) in one of the halls of the University of National and World Economy. The lecture covered issues related to the economic situation and development of Japan, as well as bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Japan and was attended by Assoc. Prof. Igor Damyanov, Dean of the Faculty "International Economics and Politics" and Assoc. Prof. Plamen Ralchev, deputy head of the Department of "International relations". Japanese Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak to the academic community in one of the best economic universities in Bulgaria and efforts by IRRSA to be done event. He outlined the theme of his lecture: State of the Japanese economy and bilateral economic relations with Bulgaria, covering interesting issues and intentions of Japan in the future plan. HE Mr. Takashi Koizumi presented the economic performance of Japan, which ranks third in the world in GDP after the US and China. He reviewed the development of the Japanese economy since the so-called. "Japanese miracle" during the "bubble" and the recession after him, to growing Asian connection and new economic program known as "Abenomiks." This program, called "strategy of three arrows" is based on three main pillars: bold monetary policy, fiscal policy and flexible growth strategy in order to stimulate private investment, said the ambassador. According to him, this includes measures to keep inflation to 2 percent, adjusting the yen downwards breaks for businesses and more public investment. Even with the launch of "Abenomiks" the economy and financial markets reacted positively, shares began to rise, stopped the drop in exports, consumption and restored a sign to revive the economy, he said HE Takashi Koizumi. He expressed his hopes for broad agreement and the signing of an agreement between Japan and the EU, for which negotiations began in 2015 and continues today.   The ambassador said bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Japan, which each opened their diplomatic missions in 1939. With concrete examples he stopped Japanese investments in the country, the prospects for cooperation in the field of SMEs, the training of our professionals and work Japanese experts in our country.   "When it comes to Japanese and Japanese companies should pay attention to the fact that they tend to build trust step by step, even if it takes a long time. The most important thing for business development is a stable and credible business environment "stressed the ambassador and gave as advice on business and build relations of mutual trust.   In an address to students Ambassador said it was possible audience to present people who will continue to create and develop business relations with Japan and noted that youth studying in Bulgaria is very important to study and promote economic relations between Bulgaria and rest of the world in the future.   The public lecture concluded the President of the Student Association for the Study of International Relations, Boyan Stavrev that HE awards Mr. Takashi Koizumi certificate in gratitude for a public lecture.

Members of IRRSA in Turkey

Between 8 to 18 April 2016. four members of IRRSA participated in the project Erasmus + on the theme "Conflict between generations." The project was held in Fethiye, Turkey gathered awake and positive young people from Romania, Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. The organization was sustained at a very high level, the purpose of activities and discussions was to find a bridge between generations. The project has helped us to rediscover again the dialogue with the "other" - different by age, showing us that the differences are not flaw and variety and diversity. It brought our way of thinking beyond stereotypes and we proved that the division into groups by any criteria is detrimental to us. Teach us how to expand their social contacts and how to better know each other. Revealed to us the techniques of non-verbal communication and creating friendships despite the distance, age, sex, education. The venue also was not accidental selected- Fethiye still bears the scars of the clash between two civilizations Byzantine and Ottoman. Tombs of the fourth century walls of twelfth and ruins of ancient cities us back to the days of this collision. All four members of IRRSA were pleased by the opportunity that Erasmus + enables to participate in such a useful and educational social, cultural and life exchange.

Youth round table “The conflict in Syria and the subsequent fleeing”

Student Association for the Study of International Relations for the year organized a youth roundtable examining issues affecting one of the current problems at the moment. The theme of this year's round table was "The conflict in Syria and the subsequent refugee wave." The event was held on 20.11.2015g. 11: 00h. in "Little conference room" in  University of National and World Economy. The roundtable took place in two panels, each of which involved six students from various universities in Bulgaria. In the first panel, the students address issues concerning political, economic and military dimension of the conflict, and the second panel gave voice to issues related to refugee wave, its consequences, the difficulties of integration of refugees and prejudices of Bulgarian society towards them. Expert jury attended the event, ask questions to the participants and assess developments. In the first panel winner was Isabella Lazova with development entitled "Predictions for the future of the conflict and a possible exit from the crisis in Syria." The first place of the second panel was awarded to Denitsa Videva a report entitled "Volunteering and refugees - difficulties lessons and hope." The winning students had the honor to present developments at the conference organized by the Department of "International Relations" a week later on 27.11.2015.

Day of foreign students

On March 11, for the fifth consecutive year the event was held on the Day of foreign students organized by IRRSA, Student Council and the Centre for mobility of students and teachers at UNWE. The event, which has become a tradition, was opened by the First Vice-Rector of UNWE Prof.. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov and led by Martin Dimitrov / 4th year student MoD /. The initiative was attended by foreign students from all over Europe who are trained regularly in the University of National and World Economy, students under the Erasmus program, as well as Bulgarians, who were trained under the same program abroad. The organizers had taken care to meet guests in the traditional Bulgarian manner with bread and salt. There have also been specially prepared quiz with which to test their knowledge of foreigners in Bulgaria. The second part of the event was focused on the experiences and impressions of Bulgarian students who have chosen to become part of the Erasmus program. Presentation was presented by Meral Emin, Victoria Kolarova and Christian Madzhurov impressions, experiences and their memories of past semester in Turkey. Once again attended and ESN, student organization whose activity is directed to students participating in mobility programs. At the end of the event foreign students with outstanding scores in the last semester they were awarded. For them, the organizers had prepared a special plaques, certificates and surprises.

Lecture with Hungarian Ambassador HE Andras Klein

Student Association for the Study of International Relations organized a public lecture by Hon. Mr. Andras Klein, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria. The lecture touched on the topic "Current foreign policy of Hungary in the field of national security and the Hungarian-Bulgarian relations." The event was held on November 19, 2015 from 17 hours in "Ceremonial" of World Economy. The lecture was conducted entirely in Bulgarian. Among those present were members of IRRSA, students of World Economy and special guests of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Society. The meeting ended with a discussion in which the audience took an active part. Special attention was given to reflections on the issue of refugee wave and the current international situation. The event was extremely interesting and useful for all who are interested in the foreign policy and what is happening in the field of national security.

Lecture by Ambassador Zdravko Popov

On 19.11.2015y. in “Ceremonial Hall,,  in UNWE was held a public lecture with Ambassador Zdravko Popov initiated by the Student Association for the Study of International Relations (IRRSA). Assoc. Prof. Zdravko Popov is a professor at Sofia University and an expert on public diplomacy. He graduated from "Philosophy and Psychology" at Sofia University and has specialized in Italy, England and the USA. He was an adviser to President Zhelyu Zhelev and Founder and Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Foreign Ministry. During the period from 2006 to 2010 was ambassador to the Czech Republic. Editor of the magazine. "Diplomacy". The topic of the lecture was ,, The role of public diplomacy in foreign policy ''. Ambassador Popov presented the essence of public diplomacy highlighted its positive and negative traits as presented numerous examples of Bulgarian and European political elite. At the end of the meeting students had the opportunity to ask questions to Mr. Popov and discuss issues they are interested in the topic.

IRRSA in Romania

IRRSA took again part in the project Erasmus +. The project was entitled "Еqual Chances for Labour Market" and was held from 9 to 19 November in the city of Iasi, Romania. Representatives of IRRSA were George Vulev Ilian Krumov, Theodore Antonov and Gabriela Petrova. The project was attended by eight countries - Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Macedonia, Italy and the hosts were again the Romanian organization Kasta Morrely. The environment in which took place the project was extremely welcoming and provide an appropriate environment for discussion, as well as on the theme and on youth issues in general.   The program was well distributed. In addition warm-ups which began days of discussions and seminars included a time to tour the city and sightseeing. Held in various debates and presentations related to the theme of the project. Turning attention to the different perspectives and views on current events related discrimination and problems in your job search. All participants together trying to find a solution to this common problem in many countries. As a conclusion of our work on the subject can be said that the obstacles arisen only stumbling block times, which can be easily overcome, respond correctly inserted situation.   The daily program ended with a cultural evening in which each side had the opportunity to present their traditional dishes, dances and customs. The project was a great opportunity for all participants to develop communication skills and acquire new knowledge and useful contacts.

What is NGO ?

On October 21, Student Association for the Study of International Relations (IRRSA) held an event - training on what the NGOs and how the NGO sector. The event was designed especially for freshmen, but the lecture was joined by students from second and third year, each able to learn and find something useful. Freshmen had the opportunity to meet with three former presidents of the Association, each of them tried to be as helpful and transmit experience and knowledge derived from work in the NGO sector. Guest speakers were Alexander Ivanov (former chairman of IRRSA and current President of NMF) George Vulev and Elizabeth Bojinova also former Presidents of the Association. Through illustrative examples and questions to three guests were able to give an idea of ​​freshmen for the work of youth organizations, qualities that can gain the benefits that may derive from them.   At the end of the lecture attendees had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers.
