“Let’s vote for European citizenship”
Once again IRRSA actively involved in the project carried out under the Youth in Action program. Young people from eight countries - Bulgaria , Romania, Greece , Turkey , Latvia, Spain , Italy and Portugal - gathered in Iasi , Romania, in the period July 2 to 13 under the slogan : "Let's vote for European citizenship". The hosts of the project - International organization Kasta Morrely said that the choice of theme is bound with the decision of the European Commission to make 2013 the year of the citizens, and the upcoming 2014 elections to the European Parliament.
In this context, various activities were organized during the training course - presentations, workshops, simulation of the TV show, etc. The course participants had to learn different ways to spread the idea of European citizenship and understand the importance of participation in the elections next year. Young people had the opportunity to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different electoral systems with the Romanian MP Sorin Jacoban. The program of the course included a meeting with the Vice Mayor of Iasi. Youth leaders became part of a public campaign in the city to familiarize citizens with their rights as European citizens and encouraging them to vote in elections next year. A video was shot on different languages calling out the citizens of EU to vote!
