International summer 2014
During the last summer the International Relations Research Students Association established partnership with two more organizations in Europe. Members of the association took part in two international projects in Spain and France in July.
Between 30th June and 5th July IRRSA was represented in the ‘Youth can do it!’ project that took place in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. Georgi Valev and Hristo Slavov were the members attending the seminar. Vitoria has population of 223 000 people and constitutes the administrative centre of the Basque autonomous region. The host organization Asociación Bitartean Jolasean – Entretanto Entretente gathered more than 30 young people from Bulgaria, Italy and Spain. The participants presented their organizations and shared their activities. Each participant had prepared individual project proposal related to his/her region which had to be presented before others. Some of the proposals were found possible of practical realization. Many trainings, intercultural games were took place. As seeking effective cultural exchange in the last night both three groups represented their countries’ culture through food, dances and presentations.
Between 18th and 27th July five IRRSA members (Georgi Arbov, Violeta Ampova, Hristo Slavov, Petya Tzvetkova and Lazarina Bistrina) participated in a project organized by the French NGO Hermes in Sent-Etienne, France. The main objective of the project was to produce new symbol of Europe that can best illustrate its identity. Participants from six member countries (Bulgaria, Romania, France, Italy, Poland, Slovakia) as well as Turkey attended the seminar. Most of the project time they spent at the atelier Cité du design in Sent-Etienne. Every evening each of the national groups presented its own traditions and culture.
The IRRSA team considers these international contacts very valuable part of the association’s activities. We are looking forward to extending our cooperation as well as gaining new partners.
